Tag für Tag

Tag 1: Santa Cruz Island: Arrival at Baltra Airport & Bachas Beach
The main entrance to central Galapagos Islands exists at Baltra Airport which lets you meet local staff who will help you reach M/C Eminence. The adventure begins at Bachas Beach which sits on the northern side of Santa Cruz Island after you board the catamaran and receive your suite assignment and learn about the ship and its expedition schedule. The visitor area maintains its peaceful atmosphere because it features soft white sand and shallow coastal lagoons which create calm turquoise water. The shoreline allows you to watch marine iguanas and shorebirds and flamingos which feed in the wetlands that stretch along the coast. The protected bay provides visitors with an opportunity to explore tropical fish and sea turtles through snorkeling which creates a peaceful introduction to the Galapagos Archipelago during their first visit.
Tag 2: Genovesa Island: Prince Philip’s Steps & Darwin Bay
Genovesa Island functions as a distant volcanic land which attracts visitors because it hosts large numbers of seabirds. The path to El Barranco starts at the shoreline before Prince Philip’s Steps lead up to the rocky plateau. The natural staircase requires you to climb while you follow a path which takes you through palo santo vegetation and volcanic terrain to spot red-footed boobies and Nazca boobies and frigatebirds and storm petrels. The dramatic landscape allows visitors to watch birds and take pictures of the scenery. The next stop brings you to Darwin Bay which exists within the remains of a half-flooded volcanic caldera. Walk along a white-sand beach surrounded by nesting birds, marine iguanas, and resting sea lions. The protected bay also offers rewarding snorkeling, with possible sightings of colorful fish, rays, sea turtles, and other marine species.
