After your arrival at Baltra Airport, your expedition starts with a scenic transfer into the lush highlands of Santa Cruz Island. Here, enormous Galapagos giant tortoises move through misty forests, grazing alongside endemic bird species like Darwin finches and flycatchers. As you walk shaded trails, you’ll also explore natural lava tunnels, remnants of the islands’ volcanic past, giving a fascinating look into the geological forces that shaped this land. Today you set course for Isabela Island, beginning with an exploration of Tintoreras, where white-tipped reef sharks glide through shallow channels. Snorkel among vibrant fish, playful sea lions, and graceful sea turtles. Later, wander the wetlands, an ecosystem bursting with life — from flamingos striding through lagoons to ducks and herons weaving among mangroves.
